Jazz professor Wayne Goins to perform at Majestic Theatre

Wayne Goins, university distinguished professor of music and director of jazz studies, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Majestic Theatre in Corvallis, Oregon. The event is presented by the Oregon State University College of Liberal Arts.

For the Corvallis show, Goins will team up with mid-valley jazz artists Joe Manis, saxophone; Sean Peterson, bass; Torrey Newhart, piano; and Ryan Biesack, director of the Oregon State University jazz band, on drums.

Faculty in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance have received Grammy awards and nominations, and Emmy awards; produced recordings on international and national CD labels and published books and journal articles with international and national publishing houses and professional organizations; and performed and presented research in every continent in the world, except Antarctica.
