KMTA Conference

Lars Quincke, senior in applied music, and Barbara Mirano, graduate student in music, along with Agustin Muriago, instructor of piano, presented their research at the Kansas Music Teachers Association Conference on Saturday, Sept. 28. Quincke and Mirano, members of the Kansas Music Teachers Association Collegiate Chapter, presented a session on teaching piano lessons to students with Down syndrome. Muriago's session focused on teacher-student communication and on giving effective feedback in a private lesson setting.

The K-State Music Teachers Association Collegiate Chapter is part of the Music Teachers National Association. Its members organize professional development events, outreach recitals, a piano tutoring program, and bring guest pianists for master classes and recitals.
