KPERS preretirement general information session offered July 24

Human Capital Services is partnering with the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System, or KPERS, to offer a preretirement information session for KPERS retirement plan members from 8:30-10 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, in the Wildcat Chamber of the K-State Student Union.

This session is for individuals who are planning to retire within the next few years and who are looking for general information on preparing for a KPERS retirement. 

Preregistration is required by Monday, July 22.

Topics to be covered during the general information session include:

KPERS information

  • Choosing a retirement date.
  • How to calculate your benefit.
  • Payment options.
  • Taxes.

K-State information

  • K-State pay periods and KPERS service quarters.
  • Leave payouts.
  • Continuing life insurance options.
  • Continuing health insurance options.
  • Retirement paperwork.
