Civil engineering graduate student places third in concrete research poster competition

Submitted by Mary Rankin

Subodh Mhamankar, doctoral student in civil engineering, placed third in the concrete research poster session sponsored by the American Concrete Institute Committee 123, Research and Current Developments, at the institute's spring convention March 25 in Quebec City, Canada.

The competition provided an opportunity for the presentation of original, unpublished results from ongoing research projects and leading-edge concrete technology throughout the world.

Mhamankar's poster was titled "A new s-notch cube geometry for testing shear properties of cementitious materials." Co-author of the work was Christopher Jones, associate professor of civil engineering at Kansas State University.
