Corrective Action for Supervisors of University Support Staff session offered June 14

Corrective Action for Supervisors University Support Staff, WTD186, will be offered from 9-11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 14, in 1092 College of Business Administration Building.
This module introduces the concepts of positive discipline and its application on the job. Positive discipline is a systematic approach to correcting job-related deficiencies and/or inappropriate behaviors. It emphasizes the supervisor's role as coach and places the responsibility for improvement on the employee.
Participants must complete an online training before attending this session. The online training can be found on the Learning and Development website.
The session will help participants:
- Identify the most common disciplinary problems that supervisors face.
- Understand university guidelines and the four-step discipline procedure.
- Conduct effective coaching sessions with an employee and refer employees with personal problems to an employee assistance program.
- Respond with confidence to the formal appeal of a decision to suspend, demote, or dismiss.
This course is offered in conjunction with the Introduction to Supervision, WTD077, series. Seating is limited.
