Olathe campus seeking K-State faculty member to serve as interim associate dean for academic and research programs

Submitted by Communications and Marketing

Kansas State University Olathe invites applications and nominations for the position of interim associate dean for academic and research programs.

"The opportunity to serve as interim associate dean at K-State Olathe is an opportunity to continue laying the foundation for our newest campus," said K-State President Kirk Schulz. "It also means taking the lead as the campus implements the strategic goals of K-State 2025, helping us become a Top 50 Public Research University."

The position reports to Dan Richardson, Kansas State University Olathe CEO, and will offer advice and counsel on matters related to research and scholarly activities. Beyond carrying out the goals of K-State 2025, the interim dean also will maintain and expand the strides the campus has made in higher education in the Kansas City area.

"When our Olathe campus announced five graduate programs in April, it was just the beginning of Kansas State University's academic presence in the Kansas City area," said Provost April Mason. "The interim associate dean will play an integral part in maintaining these programs, developing and implementing new ones, and expanding the team of faculty and staff who make it happen."

Candidates must hold a tenured appointment at the associate or full professor rank at K-State. Although the position home is the Olathe campus, the interim associate dean will keep an office on the Manhattan or Salina campus as well.

Applicant screenings began July 23 and close Aug. 10. More information about the position is available on the K-State Olathe website at http://olathe.k-state.edu/people/employment.html.
