LASER Special Edition: 'Interfacing with the Non-human'

The Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous, or LASER, Special Edition, "Interfacing with the Non-human" will be 3:30-7 p.m. Friday, March 9, in 217 Willard Hall and the Beach Museum of Art. 

The event will include lectures, demonstrations and exhibitions on the aesthetics of interaction and communication between humans and nonhuman organisms. Combining art, biology and digital technologies, this mini-symposium will explore various forms of awareness and engagement with seemingly simple lifeforms. Presented by students and faculty of the Digital/Experimental Media Lab in the art department at K-State. 

The evening will begin with student demonstrations at the DX Media Lab in 217 Willard Hall before moving to the Beach Museum of Art for an evening panel discussion.

The following is a schedule of events:

  • 3:30-4:30 p.m.: Student demonstrations at 217 Willard Hall. 
  • 4:30-5:30 p.m.: Visit "WormConnect" installation at Beach Museum of Art. 
  • 5:30-7 p.m.: Panel discussions at Beach Museum of Art.
