College of Arts and Sciences accepting applications for associate dean for research
The College of Arts and Sciences seeks nominations and applications for the position of associate dean for research.
Arts and Sciences is K-State's largest and most diverse college, with 24 departments and more than 115 degree programs covering all areas of the visual and performing arts, the humanities, and the social, physical, and life sciences. The college is home to more than 5,700 graduate and undergraduate students.
Research expenditures were $28.4 million in fiscal year 2015, while college faculty generated $19 million in extramural grant awards in fiscal year 2016.
The associate dean for research in the College of Arts and Sciences is responsible for assisting with strategic planning and data analysis; managing the college instructional fee programs; engaging early career faculty for the college's faculty enhancement program and participation in RSCAD training activities offered by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs; membership on the Associate Deans for Research Council on behalf of the college; serving as college liaison to the Graduate School; coordinating with research compliance and safety offices; planning of facility construction and oversight of maintenance and repair projects; coordination of space migration projects; and representing the college in the dean's stead as occasion may require.

All applicants must be tenured faculty — associate professor or professor — within the College of Arts and Sciences.
