Recent presentations and publications by K-State Libraries faculty and staff

The following are recent scholarly activities by K-State Libraries' faculty and staff.

  • Ellen Urton, associate professor and visual literacy librarian, attended the 40th annual Conference of the Art Libraries Society of North America in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, March 29-April 2, and made two presentations. “Design Studio Redux: Experiments in embedded librarianship” was co-authored with Blake Belanger, assistant professor in landscape architecture and regional and community planning. "From Subject Librarian to Free Agent: How one specialist braved reorganization" was based on experiences from K-State Libraries' recent reorganization. Urton also currently serves as the chair of the Art Libraries Society of North America's Central Plains chapter.
  • Leo Lo, assistant professor and research and development librarian, was profiled in College and Research Library News as part of the "Job of a Lifetime" feature.
  • Daniel Ireton, assistant professor and undergraduate and community services librarian, published "Necessary Sacrilege: Weeding Collections among People of the Book" in the International Journal of the Book, Volume 9, Issue 1.
  • Donna Ekart, communications coordinator, published "Extensibility" in Computers and Libraries, Volume 32, No. 2.
