Join the fellows for Africulture 2016 at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 16, in the Leadership Studies Building's Town Hall. The fellows will share cultural knowledge through poetry, artistic performance and public presentations. The event will end with a facilitated conversation from the fellows at 8 p.m. The event is open to the public.
The Mandela Washington Fellowship, the flagship program of President Obama's Young African Leaders Initiative, or YALI, empowers young African leaders through academic coursework, leadership training, mentoring, networking, professional opportunities, and support for activities in their communities. Fellows are young leaders from Sub-Saharan Africa who have established records of accomplishment in promoting innovation and positive change in their organizations, institutions, communities and countries.
