Gibson to present about Oz to Oz Fellowship at colloquium on campus

Submitted by Courtney Boman

The landscape architecture and regional & community planning department will host a colloquium featuring Huston Gibson, assistant professor, at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 1, in 306 Seaton Hall. The colloquium is free and open to the public.

Gibson will discuss his experience from first engaging his collaborators to disseminating their research findings, as well as highlight some significant happenings along the way. This colloquium is intended for individuals both interested in the topic of framing and implementation of sustainable planning initiatives, as well as those more generally interested in the process of collaborating from Oz to Oz.

In summer 2015, Gibson was a visiting academic with the School of Geography, Planning & Environment at the University of Queensland and had an Urban Research Program International Visiting Fellowship at the Griffith School of Environment, Griffith University, Gold Coast campus in Australia. He also worked with the School of Civil Engineering & Built Environment at the Queensland University of Technology, Garden Points campus. These appointments were in collaboration with his 2014-2015 K-State Oz to Oz Fellowship. Collectively, he was collaboratively researching the framing and implementation of sustainable planning initiatives in Queensland, Australia.
