Campus Parking and Transportation Study

Submitted by Cindy Bontrager

Parking Services commissioned a Campus Parking and Transportation Study in conjunction with the North Campus Corridor Master Plan. The study evaluated existing parking and transit at Kansas State University and provided recommendations that can be implemented over the course of several years. Your input is important as we improve parking and transportation on campus. Please submit your comments on the Parking Services website.

I am forming a Park and Ride work group to be chaired by Darwin Abbott, director of Parking Services. The work group will include representatives from the Council on Parking Operations, the Campus Planning and Development Advisory Committee, Housing and Dining Services, Faculty Senate, University Support Staff Senate, Student Governing Association and ATA Bus. The work group will be charged with reviewing the suggested shuttle routes in the study and recommending a shuttle route, as well as locations for bus shelters, to begin in the fall 2016 semester. An overview of the study and the work group recommendations will be presented during the Council on Parking Operations open forum at 3 p.m. April 21 in the K-State Student Union's Big 12 Room. I also plan to form another work group this fall to develop the long-range parking and transportation plan for the campus community to consider.

If you have questions, please contact Darwin Abbott at darwin@k-state.edu or 785-532-1980 or me at cab@k-state.edu or 785-532-6226.

Sincerely,

Cindy Bontrager
