K-State Alumni Association receives the 2015 Outstanding Support for International Initiatives Award

Submitted by Mary K Pyle

The K-State Alumni Association is the recipient of the 2015 Outstanding Support for International Initiatives Award. Given by the Office of International Programs leadership team, this award is presented annually during our International Education Week celebration. The award recognizes a department or organization within the university who has gone above and beyond to support the office's international initiatives or serve K-State's global student body.

The K-State Alumni Association will be recognized at the 2015 International Education Awards Ceremony from 4-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in the KSU Alumni Center Tadtman Board Room with Provost April Mason making remarks and recognizing them. The K-State community is invited to attend.

"Our team was impressed with the many new initiatives undertaken by the K-State Alumni Association, the 20 scholarships they awarded for international students, hosting International Family Fun Day in September, providing International Student Leadership Awards and the recent international travel by their staff to establish and engage our alumni networks," said Marcelo Sabates, associate provost of international programs.

"It's an honor to accept the 2015 Outstanding Support for International Initiatives award on behalf of the K-State Alumni Association staff," said Amy Button Renz, president and CEO of the K-State Alumni Association. "As the K-State Family continues to expand globally, the K-State Alumni Association staff is committed to offer programs that enrich the international experience for students and serve as a lifelong link to help our nearly 5,000 international alumni and friends stay connected around the world."

The International Education Week Fair also will take place in the Tadtman Boardroom during the International Awards Ceremony featuring K-State departments and organizations promoting and celebrating international awareness.
