K-State United Way: What this place needs is you

,595 of 0,000 goal

On the second week of the K-State United Way campaign, we have 180 K-State employees who have pledged $44,595. We need your help to get to our goal of $100,000.

As Kirk Schulz, Steve Dandaneau and Cheryl Johnson said last week, "The United Way serves a unique purpose in our communities, helping raise funds for many agencies that make up the social safety net. Our neighbors, friends and some cases family members, have benefited over the years from United Way support. They continue to need our generous support."

Here are just a few of things our Konza United Way did last year to serve more than 19,000 individuals in the six-county area — Clay, Marshall, Pottawatomie, Riley, Wabaunsee and Washington counties:

  • Tutored 2,519 children.
  • Served 607 domestic violence victims, answered 2,320 calls and provided 2,829 nights of safe shelter.
  • Provided more than 13,000 nights of emergency shelter for homeless children and adults.
  • Advocated for 137 local child victims of child abuse or neglect.

Giving is easy! Go to Employee Self Service/HRIS or complete and return your contribution letter or visit the K-State United Way page and select Give Now.
