Postdoctoral research associate receives Best Young Investigator award

Sunitha Shiva, a postdoctoral research associate at the Kansas Lipidomics Research Center in the Division of Biology, recently was honored with the Noble Foundation Best Young Investigator Plant Metabolomics Oral Presentation at the 2015 Metabolomics Society meeting in Burlingame, San Francisco Bay, California.

At the meeting, she presented "Identification of genes and enzymes responsible for the stress-induced modification of membrane lipids in Arabidopsis thaliana." Shiva also received a 2015 Metabolomics Society Early Career Travel Award to support her attendance at the Metabolomics Society annual conference, June 29-July 2. 

Shiva works with Ruth Welti, university distinguished professor in the Division of Biology.
