Human Capital Services welcomes Valetta Miranda-Evans
Submitted by Human Capital Services Benefits
In March we provided an overview of the Human Capital Services organization including the roles and responsibilities within each department. In that overview, we informed you that Charlotte Self, director of employee relations and engagement, and her team are charged with helping foster high-performing work teams among university support staff, unclassified staff and faculty.
While an active search has commenced to hire a person to support all human capital-related work for the academic personnel workforce, please welcome Valetta Miranda-Evans to the Human Capital Services team. She will help with the team's tasks:
- Finding ways for individuals and teams to explore common ground and aligned purpose.
- Managing grievance processes.
- Conducting exit interviews to identify why people leave and what we can do to retain employees who contribute to K-State.
- Managing reasonable accommodations within the workforce.
- Supporting human relations-related work formerly conducted in the Office of Academic Personnel.
Miranda-Evans has an extensive international human capital background in employee relations, organizational development, leadership development and learning and training. She has contributed in several industries within three continents including North America, Asia and Europe.
Miranda-Evans recently provided human capital consultation to the scientific community of DuPont where she provided executive coaching, facilitation and leadership development for more than 19 years. She is certified as an organizational transformational facilitator, has a Bachelor of Science in sociology from Boston University and a Master of Social Work from Boston College.
The Employee Relations and Engagement team relishes opportunities to provide consultation to administrators, deans, department chairs, faculty, unclassified and university support staff employees on all matters pertaining to employee relations, conflict resolution and engagement.
We welcome Miranda-Evans as our newest team member and look forward to the many contributions she will make to Kansas State University.
