The K-State Alumni Association has recognized eight recent Kansas State University graduates for outstanding achievements and leadership within the multicultural and international communities during their college careers. The students were presented with their awards recently at the K-State Alumni Center.

"These students have played an important role in leadership while at K-State," said Jessica Elmore, assistant director of multicultural programs for the K-State Alumni Association.

The honors include four graduates who earned the Multicultural Leadership Award. Those awards went to Mercedes Perry, bachelor's degree graduate in business administration, Austin, Texas; Jessica Jasso, bachelor's degree graduate in secondary education, Olathe, Kansas; Taneysha Howard, bachelor's degree graduate in agricultural communications and journalism, St. Louis, Missouri; and Justine Floyd, bachelor's degree graduate in agribusiness, Wichita, Kansas.

The alumni association also recognized four graduates with the inaugural International Leadership Awards. Those recipients were Youwei Yang, bachelor's degree graduate in agricultural economics, Baiyin City, China; Mohamed Ismail, doctoral graduate in nuclear engineering, Belbeis, Egypt; Abdulrahman Alkhiary, bachelor's degree graduate in political science and economics, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; and Marta Miletic, doctoral graduate in civil engineering, Zagreb, Croatia.
