K-State Research Facilities and Resources Showcase scheduled for May 13

Submitted by Karen Burg

As a complement to the Working With Industry Boot Camp, the Office of the Vice President for Research, the Institute for Commercialization and the KSU Foundation are facilitating a K-State Research Facilities and Resources Showcase from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, in the Grand Ballroom at the K-State Student Union.

The environment will be similar to a trade show "exhibit hall." A research facility exhibit might include an equipment demonstration — live or on video; a research poster; approved schedule of charges; as well as other means of communicating capabilities. A resource exhibit might include a poster/table-top display, information and printed handouts to describe how the resource can be incorporated into a research proposal.

The purpose of this special event is to allow faculty and staff to promote research facilities and equipment to their peers in other colleges and departments, to gain a broader perspective of the research capabilities across all colleges, campuses and extension offices, and to stimulate dialogue around opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration.

Campus units that offer complimentary support for corporate partnerships and federal agency submissions are also invited to promote their products and services — e.g. diversity programs, career and employment services, mentoring and professional advantage programs, etc.

To reserve a 10 feet by 10 feet exhibit space in the Research Facilities and Resources Showcase, please complete the application form by 5 p.m. May 1.

For additional information please contact Mary Lou Marino in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at mlmarino@k-state.edu or 785-532-6195.

Please consider participating!
