Dow Center offers open forum on immigration Oct. 28 in Forum Hall
Submitted by Communications and Marketing
The Dow Center for Multicultural and Community Studies at K-State Libraries will present "Viewpoint 360: Immigration" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, in Forum Hall at the K-State Student Union. Four Kansas State University professors with varying specializations will take part in the panel presentation, which is free and open to the public.
Panelists include Melia Fritch, assistant professor and coordinator of the Dow Center; Tanya Gonzalez, associate professor of English; Jeffrey S. Smith, associate professor of geography; and Norma Valenzuela, visiting professor of American ethnic studies. They will consider a wide variety of questions: How do current developments in immigration nationally reflect global and historical trends? How do representations of immigration in the media reflect or alter our perceptions of reality? And what are the best ways to find reliable, current information on the subject of immigration?
