National Geographic photographer to speak at Oct. 16 brown bag for communicators

Submitted by Jennifer Tidball

The October communicators' brown bag will include a presentation by Jim Richardson, a Kansas State University alumnus and a photographer from National Geographic Magazine.

The brown bag will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 206 at the K-State Student Union.

Richardson has photographed more than 30 stories for National Geographic Magazine. He also is a contributing editor for its sister publication, TRAVELER Magazine. Besides his photography of landscapes and cultures, Richardson's work takes him around the world photographing environmental and resource issues including food and agriculture. Richardson also has built a distinguished body of black-and-white documentary work about rural Kansas life.

He lives in Lindsborg, Kansas, where his work is featured at his gallery, Small World, on Lindsborg's Main Street.

The brown bag series for communicators is designed to inform and connect campus communicators. Check the communicators' brown bag website for more information and a complete list of lunches for the fall semester.
