Grad students, K-State writers: 'Using Word to write' sessions scheduled April 16, 23

Graduate students, faculty and all K-State writers who want to learn more about the ins and outs of using Microsoft Word are welcome to drop by the "Using Word to write" open help session from 3-6 p.m. today, April 16, at the west end of the K-State InfoCommons on main floor of Hale Library. A repeat session is scheduled from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in the same location.

Graduate students can get help with their electronic thesis, dissertation, report formatting issues. Everyone can get personalized solutions for their pesky Word problems. Bring your laptop and learn about:

  • Electronic thesis, dissertation, report writing templates — basic Word documents with built-in time-saving features for use by any K-State writer
  • Word time-savers — document map, jump scrolling, Zoom view, automated-update fields and more
  • Power tools — use styles to make a change that propagates throughout
  • Troubleshooting tips to fix page numbers, add captions, etc.
