Communications and Marketing rolls out content management system and draft guidelines for K-State web pages

Submitted by Cheryl May

With the assistance of the communications and marketing web services staff, seven K-State units have published their websites in the university's new content management system. Another 45 sites are actively being built, and 30 more are preparing to implement.

The new admissions site has adopted the university's branding strategy and can be viewed here.

Based on the content management system design, the Division of Communications and Marketing has published a set of draft guidelines for official Kansas State University web pages. The overall goal is to make the K-State web experience better, based on research and usability studies. Please send your input and recommendations to vpcm@k-state.edu. Communications and Marketing plans another usability study in the fall.

For the purposes of the guidelines, institutional web pages are defined as the websites of colleges, divisions, schools, departments, and academic and administrative offices. Please note: the guidelines do not apply to individual faculty web pages.
