Center for Student Involvement meets first milestone since launch
The Center for Student Involvement, K-State's point of contact for student organizations, has reached its first milestone since its launch at the beginning of the summer.
The center has collaborated with campus stakeholders to help reregister 450 student organizations under its new student organization policy. The center's liaison staff is working with the few remaining student organizations to finalize their registrations.
"It is important for the university to communicate with and connect all groups to resources in a consistent way," said Heather Reed, assistant vice president for student life. "The variety of student organizations available to K-State students offers opportunities for leadership experience, personal growth, community services, professional development and learning from others."
Categories include academic groups, academic competition teams, community service organizations, fraternities and sororities, general university groups, honoraries, multicultural student organizations, religious groups, special interests and sports clubs.
Groups that missed the Oct. 2 registration deadline are invited to reregister by logging into the OrgSync portal and follow the instructions in the orange box. Contact the center if you have questions or need assistance at 785-532-6541 or email@example.com.
Another success for the center is the partnership with K-State 360, a program designed to provide students with a well-rounded experience of co-curricular programs to help students stand out to future employers or graduate and professional schools.
The program is currently serving 2,511 students as of late October.
Through the K-State 360 dashboard, students can organize and track their involvement and find opportunities to get involved. K-State 360 tracks progress and development in six competency areas: teamwork, diversity, leadership, problem-solving, communication and career development.
