Electrical and computer engineering professor presents research in Denmark

Submitted by Mary Rankin

Behrooz Mirafzal, Kansas State University associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and a Michelle Munson-Serban Simu keystone research faculty scholar, was a recent guest lecturer at Aalborg University in Denmark.

His visit and collaboration with the Harmony Center in the department of energy technology at Aalborg University were funded through a National Science Foundation supplement and European Research Council grant. His presentation at Aalborg University addressed single-stage boost inverters for direct-drive wind turbines.

The international research opportunity in Europe is beneficial for NSF CAREER awardees such as Mirafzal through cooperative activities during research visits, and also by establishing research partnerships to enrich future research activities in Europe and the U.S.
