Request for proposals: Fall 2016 Faculty Development Awards and University Small Research Grants
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs announces the fall 2016 Faculty Development Award and University Small Research Grant Request for Proposals for tenured or tenure-track faculty who are interested in receiving assistance in their scholarly activities and professional development. Faculty must have at least some percentage of their appointment devoted to research. Proposals are due at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3.
The President's Faculty Development Awards program provides support for travel to international meetings — primarily at international locations — or to meet with program officers from potential external sponsors. The University Small Research Grants program is a "seed" grant program to support early research, scholarly activity, and other creative efforts.
If you seek support for travel/projects occurring Dec. 31 through July 1, 2017, apply in the fall competition by Oct. 3, 2016. For travel/projects occurring between July 1-Dec. 31, 2017, apply in the spring competition by March 6, 2017.
Please attend one of the FDA and USRG information sessions to hear about the changes to this semester's application and review process based on input from the USRG/FDA focus group. Sessions will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20. Both sessions will be in 207 K-State Student Union.
