Managing Gossip in the Workplace offered March 30

Is gossip a problem in your work area? Do you always find yourself in a situation where gossip surrounds you and you do not know what to do about it?

If so, consider attending Managing Gossip in the Workplace, WTD170, presented by Shanna Legleiter, director of learning and development, from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, in 206 K-State Student Union.

The purpose of this training is to identify and define gossip, recognize the effects of gossip in the workplace, and learn the tools to personally manage gossip situations. This training is open to faculty, staff and student employees.

As a result of this session, participants will:

  • Define gossip.
  • Identify reasons why gossip occurs.
  • Discuss the effects of gossip situations in the workplace.
  • Describe strategies that can be utilized to eliminate gossip from the workplace.
