Good morning, K-Staters!

We are now in Week 8 of the Spring 2024 semester, and the Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) team would like to remind you of our commitment to support your efforts in teaching, mentoring, and advising. We are excited to announce the various priorities, events, and resources that are designed to advance teaching and learning at K-State. This video explains what the TLC can do for you.

Wakonse Fellows Program 2024

Wakonse is an organization of individuals dedicated to promoting and sharing with colleagues the excitement and satisfaction of teaching in higher education. If you are interested in attending this year’s event, consider applying for The Wakonse Fellowship in which the Provost's Office can help support some of the attendance costs. Applications are due to the Provost’s Office by April 1st, 2024. Click here for more information.

Programs & Events

Our Professional Development (PD) Series will continue on Wednesdays at 12 noon via Zoom. All events are free, and no registration is required. You can find more information on our schedule on the Upcoming Events page of our website and on our social media: Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

 

  • On Wednesday, March 6th (tomorrow!), Colby Moorberg will lead a professional development event titled, "Exploring open pedagogy: How to engage students using OER-enabled renewable assignments." Click here to view the promotional video.

 

  • On Tuesday, March 19th, guest speaker Mutale Nkonde will present “What ChatGPT Doesn’t Tell You” as part of the 2024 K-State Libraries Lecture Series at 3:30pm in Hale Library’s Hemisphere Room (Room 581). Please register via Qualtricsby March 7th. Click here for more information.

  • On Wednesday March 20th, Jon Ulmer will lead a professional development event. We hope to see you there!

  • On Friday, March 29th, Andie Faber will lead a Signatures Lecture, hosted by Modern Languages, titled, “Fostering Multilingualism for the 21st Century Through an Un-grading Pedagogy” from 3:00-5:00pm in Leadership Studies Town Hall. Click here to view the flyer.
