Sanitation, Food Safety, and Alcohol Permits
Policy Regarding Events Serving Food and Alcohol on Campus
All organizations wishing to serve food on campus must fill out the food and alcohol permit form. They will then receive an e-mail from Environmental Health and Safety that will serve as the permit or if food preparation is being done directly by the organization (cookout, selling homemade food, etc.) additional steps may be necessary for approval. Groups are strongly encouraged to utilize permitted food service establishments or packaged food to receive automatic approval. EHS reserves the right to spot check and suspend any events not following proper procedures or good food hygiene practices.
The service of alcoholic beverages is not permitted on university property except in accordance with Alcohol Cereal Malt Beverage PPM 3053. Alcohol may only be served in approved locations.
If anyone or any organization would like to move into a business avenue, they can operate up to 6 days in a 12 month time period without licensing. Upon operating the 7th day, they are required to be licensed by KDA.
