Building History
Dykstra Hall was constructed in 1955 and originally served as the home of the Department of Veterinary Medicine. The building is named in honor of R. R. Dykstra, who joined the university in 1909. He was appointed head of the Department of Veterinary Medicine in 1917 and became dean in 1919, playing a significant role in the development of veterinary education at the university.
