- Adjustments to Hazardous Waste Pickups During Reduced University Activity Period
Waste Collection Modifications: All requests for hazardous waste pickup—including biohazard and universal waste—must be submitted by end of day, December 22, 2025 to ensure collection before the university closure. EHS staff will collect materials on December 23, 2025. No hazardous waste pickups will occur from December 24, 2025 through January 1, 2026. Regular pickups will resume on January 2, 2026. - Campus Fire Safety Month - September is Campus Fire Safety Month. Kansas State University in partnership with the Manhattan Fire Department want to help raise awareness about the threat of fires in both on- and off-campus housing. We encourage students to take action and make their living spaces safe as possible from fires and other associated hazards.

- City of Manhattan Water Quality Report (external site) - During the 2023 calendar year, there were no violation(s) of drinking water regulations for Manhattan. The bottom line is that the water that the city provides to you is safe and meets or exceeds all federal and state drinking water quality standards. The Hazardous Waste Awareness courses are now on Vivid online register here:
- Initial Hazardous Waste Awareness training is required for anyone that handles or generates a hazardous waste.
- Hazardous Waste Awareness Refresher training is for those that have taken the Hazardous Waste Awareness instructor-led course in the past or the Online Initial Hazardous Waste Awareness course within the last year. The refresher course is required to take on an annual basis.
