Priority Dates & Enrollment Times

Enrollment Status Time Chart

New Students/Admits are required to attend New Student Orientation. You will meet virtually with your academic advisor who will help you plan your class schedule. Information will also be provided to prepare you for your first semester at K-State. You are not eligible for Priority/Early Enrollment Appointment times.

Registration Priority by Student Status:

  • Athletics and Honors students are provided with priority time slots to accommodate unique schedule needs.
  • Military-affiliated student and families are provided registration at the beginning of each registration period for the term.

Military-Affiliated Priority Registration:

Kansas State University offers priority registration to military-affiliated students and familes who have submitted the appropriate documentation. To be eligible for the priority registration, the student must have updated their student record in KSIS appropriately {refer to the Adding Military/Veteran affiliation in KSIS help page}.

Current K-State military affiliated students and families are assigned a priority enrollment date scheduled at the first registration date available for students. Priority registration benefits students by giving early access to scheduled classes allowing students more time to complete their aid eligibility requirements and achieve timely program completion. This priority registration has no impact on waitlists or classes already filled.

Understanding Your Enrollment Appointment:

Enrollment appointment times are assigned based on your current Academic Level (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, etc.) and your Cumulative Earned Hours.
Earned Hours include only completed coursework — not attempted hours or classes you’re currently taking.

Enrollment appointments are not based on what your Academic Level will be in the upcoming term. Even if you are projected to move to the next classification, your appointment is still assigned using your current level and is randomly assigned within that group.

Important for Transfer Students

If you have transfer coursework under review, please know that any resulting changes to your Academic Level do not automatically update your enrollment appointment. Your appointment will remain based on your Academic Level at the time appointments were originally assigned.

New Students

Enrollment appointment times are assigned only to current students.
All new students admitted for a future semester or term must wait to enroll until Open Enrollment for Current Students begins.
