The Geographic Information Systems Spatial Analysis Laboratory (GISSAL) is a university core facility established in 1990 as an interdisciplinary center supporting geospatial research, learning, and outreach activities at Kansas State University.

Kansas Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit
The Kansas Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit is a partnership among the U.S. Department of Interior, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, and Kansas State University. Unit faculty conducts research on natural resources, with a focus on wildlife and fish populations. Research projects focus on large-scale population demography, animal movements and space use, habitat characteristics, and limiting factors that can be used to inform conservation actions.

Kansas Water Institute
The Kansas Water Institute develops and supports research on high-priority water resource problems and objectives identified through the state water plan. Additionally, the institute facilitates effective communication between water resource professionals and helps disseminate and apply research results.

Center for Outcomes Research and Epidemiology
The Center for Outcomes Research and Epidemiology (CORE) at Kansas State University is an interdisciplinary research and training center focused on the application of outcomes research and epidemiology for the benefit of animal and human populations. Our collaborative team excels in population-based and quantitative approaches that enable us to provide decision-makers with valid information based on sound science and data. Our research and training programs capitalize on our expertise in epidemiology, economics, research design and implementation, data analysis and interpretation, veterinary medicine, animal agriculture, and population health management. We promote excellence in experimental, observational, and research synthesis methods, and strive to enable evidence-based and data-driven decisions.
