Dr. Angela Powers is a specialist in media management and entrepreneurship. Teaching awards include the University Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award and the AEJMC MME Barry Sherman Teaching Award. Diversity initiatives include advising NABJ, receiving the Outstanding Unit Award for Enhancing Diversity at Kansas State, and co-chairing the AEJMC Presidential Diversity and Inclusion Career Development Fellowship Task Force. She is a Fulbright Scholar on developing media in Eastern Europe and the Caribbean. Fellowships include teaching journalists at Al-Ahram and Al Akhbar in Egypt and research at the Media Management Transformation Center in Sweden.
She has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and presentations in outlets such as the Journal of Media Economics. She has served as Associate Editor of the Nordic Journal of Media Management. She has also served as director of two journalism and communication programs, the A.Q. Miller School at Kansas State University and the Greenlee School at Iowa State University. Professional experience includes television reporting on CBS and NBC affiliates.
