Developing Scholars Program

The Developing Scholars Program (DSP) offers all incoming, transfer, and current K-State students the opportunity to conduct research projects in their field of study with faculty mentors. For over 25 years, the Developing Scholars Program has helped fulfill K-State’s land grant mission by increasing access and broadening participation in undergraduate research. Scholars accepted into the Developing Scholars Program receive academic, social, and financial support while becoming integrated into the intellectual climate of the university.

Scholars will enroll in an introductory research seminar course for each semester of their first year. Additionally, all Scholars will attend small group events and advising meetings.

What does DSP provide?

  • Structured mentorship opportunities with faculty and SDUR Staff
  • Research experience in any field of study that K-State offers from the sciences, the humanities, education, business, agriculture, the arts, and everything in-between
  • A motivated peer group of achievers and leaders
  • A semesterly stipend of $1,500.00 to support your research
