Road expert to talk about long-life roads in Kansas

Rick Barezinsky, assistant bureau chief of the Kansas Department of Transportation, or KDOT, will be the featured speaker at the Civil Engineering Graduate Seminar Invited Lecture Series at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, in 1052 Rathbone Hall. The lecture is sponsored by the Munger Professorship in Civil Engineering.

Barezinsky will present recent technological developments and implementation in the construction of long-life concrete pavements in the metropolitan areas of Kansas. Specific examples will be cited with respect to the concrete material selection and pavement design. The federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and KDOT IKE programs provide funding for these efforts.
