Weekly global religious, spiritual and nonreligious observance information

Submitted by Stefan Yates

The President's Committee on Religion, Spirituality and Nonreligious Diversity presents the global observance information for Feb. 21-27.

Feb. 25-March 1

Intercalary Days — Baha’i. Insertion of days into the calendar in order to maintain the solar calendar, considered "days outside of time." During these days, Baha’is enjoy a variety of festivities, including gift-giving, parties and charitable works. A period of fasting follows these days.

Ta’anit Esther — Jewish. Fast on Purim eve, commemorating the fast of the Jewish people in the story of Purim.

The President's Committee on Religious, Spiritual and Nonreligious Diversity welcomes those of all global religious, spiritual and nonreligious commitments. Further, we welcome any suggestions, questions or other comments. Please contact the chair, Bev Earles, at earles@k-state.edu.
