School of Music, Theatre, and Dance hosts IDEall Week

Submitted by Alex Wimmer

The K-State School of Music, Theatre, and Dance is hosting its second IDEall Week with the focus on Indigenous people and communities. This online event will occur this week. The full schedule of guest performers, lecturers and events, as well as streaming information, can be found at the MTD IDEall Website.

IDEall stands for Inclusion, Diversity and Equity for All.

In addition to K-State student and faculty performances, interviews with Tabitha Fair, singer-songwriter; Timothy Long, music director of opera at the Eastman School of Music; and K-State's Indigenous Faculty Staff Alliance will be featured as well.

Formed in 2020 and made up of faculty, staff and students, the goals of the IDEall Committee are to improve the music, theatre and dance climate, advance the recruitment and retention of underrepresented students, advance the recruitment and retention of underrepresented faculty and staff, promote education opportunities centered on social equity, and to communicate information pertinent to diversity opportunities, benefits and needs. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to bring comments, proposals for opportunities and concerns about IDEall issues to committee members.

The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance is a part of the College of Arts and Sciences. Visit its website to learn more.
