Wayne Goins, university distinguished professor of music, published an exclusive interview in Jazz Guitar Today magazine, "Growing Up In The Shadow Of A Giant."

The piece focuses on the jazz guitar career of Grant Green Jr., the son of legendary Blue Note Records jazz guitarist Grant Green.

More specifically, Goins discusses Green Jr.'s growing up with his famous father; the responsibility of maintaining the legend's reputation; establishing his own independent career and reputation apart from his dad's shadow; and his current recording projects.

Goins, who writes regularly for the magazine, has published several interviews and articles as a contributing feature columnist. Goins interviews legendary artists in the field as well as newly emerging jazz guitarists who not only perform but also excel in the field of jazz guitar instruction and teach privately or at academic institutions throughout the country.
