College of Agriculture Diversity Programs Office update

Submitted by Zelia Wiley

Thank You

Thanks to all who made the 2020 MANRRS Week a success. Our partners were excellent as they shared their time and expertise with our audiences. There is still time to drop off shoes for the Soles4Souls shoe campaign. The contactless drop is at the College of Agriculture Diversity Programs Office, Room 139.

This week will host the Navigating Difference training and on Nov. 17 will host Royal Valley High School JAG program for the last HYBRID College for a Day. In the community service spirit, we will host a food drive for Cats' Cupboard to close out the fall 2020 semester. Food/canned good drop off will be at the College of Ag Diversity Programs Office starting tomorrow, Nov. 11. Please join us as we support those who are food insecure. During these unprecedented times, we want to make sure the Diversity Programs Office and K-State MANRRS are supporting our community. Diversity and inclusion efforts are key in all aspects of this global pandemic.

Again, thanks to our partners for the fall 2020 MANRRS Week: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. — Kappa Pi Chapter, Alpha of Clovia 4-H Cooperative Leadership House, Kansas Black Farmers Association, JohnElla Holmes, Kevin Bryant, Kansas State First Book, Manhattan Community MLK Committee, Diversity Multicultural Student Affairs Department, Wichita West High School, Gear Up and the College of Agriculture Academic Programs Office. In closing, as we observe Nov. 11, thanks to all veterans for your service! Happy Veterans Day.

Thanks to the DPO staff — Lonnie Hobbs, Jr., Summer Smades, Josephine Gianni, McKenzie Stevens, Raymond Thomas, Sanders Barbee, and Keli Yungeberg — for they make it happen! Most importantly, we thank you, for your continued support of our program efforts. For more information on future events, please contact Zelia Wiley at zwiley@k-state.edu, or the Diversity Programs Office at 785-532-5793.
