SPSS Licenses

K-State has a licensing program with IBM that provides access to SPSS Statistics and SPSS Amos software for currently affiliated students, faculty and staff.

SPSS Statistics

This software is compatible with both Microsoft Windows and Mac operating systems and can be installed on both University-owned and personal computers. Each license may be installed on up to two computers, but the software cannot be used concurrently on both machines. Teaching & Research (T&R) licenses are intended for classroom instruction, academic (non-commercial) research and coursework, including the development of theses and dissertations. Administrative licenses are designated for institutional research and reporting purposes.

SPSS Statistics includes access to the following features:

  • Statistics Base
  • Data Preparation
  • Bootstrapping
  • Advanced Statistics
  • Regression Models
  • Custom Tables

SPSS Amos

This module is a stand-alone application and does not require SPSS Statistics for use. Please note that this software is not compatible with Mac operating systems; it can be installed on either University-owned or personal computers. Each license allows installation on up to two computers, but it cannot be used concurrently on both. Mac users must access SPSS Amos through a university computing lab.

Allowable Use

Licensees may only use the programs for teaching, non-commercial academic research, and university administration or operations. Any other use is strictly prohibited.

Liscensing Fees

The annual license fee for SPSS Statistics for faculty, staff, and shared-use lab machines is $280, covering the period from January 1 to December 31. The yearly license fee for SPSS Amos is $237, also covering the period from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31.
