Committees and Groups
Extended IT Leadership
This group comprises leaders in distributed and central IT on the Manhattan, Olathe, Polytechnic, and Global campuses. As stated in the IT Strategic Plan, their efforts focus on university interests in addition to department or unit-specific concerns and leverage university expertise. The group also serves as a relationship broker and pipeline among our respective units. The team strives for transparent management and decision-making processes. It works in an integrative and collaborative manner on projects, exchanging information, and reviewing policies and procedures to enrich the success of students, faculty, and staff at Kansas State University by participating in the following committees:
- Committee on Academic Policy and Procedures (CAPP)
- Faculty Senate Committee on Technology (FSCOT)
- Student Governing Association (SGA)
Project Governance Board (PGB)
The IT Project Governance Board meets monthly and is responsible for ensuring that new technology projects undertaken by K-State are aligned with university goals and strategy, adequately funded and staffed, and do not conflict with or overlap existing projects and initiatives. This will help IT organizations maintain strategic focus, ensure optimal resource utilization, and streamline project completion, improving product and service delivery. PGG consists of representatives from across the University who can provide an institution-wide vision on technology projects and have a vested interest in the success of IT projects at K-State.
