Faculty and Staff
We will soon be uploading probation reports to the Grad Resources group in Teams and communicating with students about their academic standing. Students who are on probation will be encouraged to work with their major professor or graduate program director to develop a success plan with specific actions to return to good academic standing. We will also compare the spring 2022 reports with reports from the end of the fall semester for an assessment of students who returned to good academic standing and those who remained on probation.
The Graduate School is working on numerous projects this summer. Check out what we are working on here!
Students planning to graduate in Summer 2022 are encouraged to use the Graduate School’s graduation and commencement checklists to ensure they complete all requirements by posted deadlines. August 12 is the deadline to complete all requirements for summer 2022 graduation. Students should work with their committees early to allow time for scheduling final exams, submitting forms to the Graduate School, and making final revisions to ETDRs.
Dr. John Augusto and Dr. Frankie Felder will be hosting a Holistic Admissions Strategies Webinar on June 21, 2022. In this session, learn about the full breadth of practices that promote fairness, processes that mitigate bias and strategies that can help you achieve your enrollment goals. You can register for this webinar here.
The spring 2022 incomplete grade reports for each academic program will be released the week of June 20th. Thank you for taking the time to review these reports. The Graduate School appreciates you and acknowledges you and our student success. Just as a reminder you can reach these files by logging in to Microsoft Teams.
Graduate Student Success
The Graduate School looks forward to welcoming new graduate students this summer. We began communicating information to admitted students on June 9, but appreciate help from programs with sharing this information with new and continuing graduate students. The information is most relevant to new graduate students (especially those new to K-State), but continuing grad students are welcome to participate in sessions if they missed orientation in their first semester, need a refresh, or want an opportunity to connect with other grad students!

- Getting started checklists and tutorials: This section of our website guides new graduate students through the K-State onboarding process (e.g., enrolling in classes, accessing technology). We also have guidance specifically for new international students and for grad students who are starting an assistantship. Learn more.

Opportunities for Grad Students
Graduate students may apply for funding to support travel to and participation in professional conferences and other events supporting their graduate work and professional development. The application deadline is the first of the month, two months prior to the month in which the event officially begins. The deadline is NOT two months prior to the start of your event. For events scheduled to begin anytime in September, the application deadline is July 1.
Note about conference presentation acceptance: Students who plan to give a presentation at a conference must provide documentation verifying that their presentation was accepted. Students who do not receive their acceptance notification before the travel award application deadline should still apply by the deadline. In the application, they will note that they have not received an acceptance notification yet. If allocated a travel award, their award will be pending their submission of the presentation acceptance. Learn more about GSC travel awards.
