You're admitted! What's next?

We are pleased you have chosen K-State for your graduate education and look forward to welcoming and supporting you through this exciting journey! The following will guide you through the next steps to help you prepare for your K-State graduate career.

Let us know you're attending!

If you have not already done so, make sure to officially accept your admission offer. Go to the Online Graduate Application Menu, click on "Manage Your Account" to login, and complete the “decision response form” on your “review activity” page.

Get access to K-State systems

If you are brand new to K-State, set-up your eID soon after accepting your admission offer. Your eID is your K-State user name and the first part of your email address (your_eID@k-state.edu). Your eID is used to access university software and labs, enroll in classes, accept financial aid, sign in to K-State e-mail, view online paychecks, and much more. You will use your eID to complete many "getting started" tasks online even before you arrive to campus.

Apply for scholarships

The K-State Scholarship Network (KSN) is an online application portal that will connect you to scholarship opportunities. You will create a profile in the system that will help match you to specific scholarship opportunities provided by K-State donors and offered through university departments, All scholarship awards in the KSN are made for the fall semester. The application closes on May 31 each year, but for the best chance to be considered for funding, apply by March 15.

To do before your first semester

Accessing technology, enrolling in classes, preparing for research/scholarly work, submitting assistantship paperwork, completing training, and obtaining an ID card and parking permit are just some of the things you will need to do before the start of your first semester as a graduate student. Our checklists and tutorials will guide you through each of these "getting started" tasks.

Make your move to Manhattan

If you're moving to Manhattan from another city, state, or country, we have a housing guide just for graduate students and other resources to help you find a home and get acquainted with the Little Apple!

Attend welcome and orientation

Prior to each fall and spring semester, the Graduate School and other K-State units coordinate informational sessions and community building activities to welcome new students and help them launch their new educational career.
