Announcements

Poinsettia Sale and Amaryllis too:  Once again the annual poinsettia sale with amaryllis with be online and in-person. The online sale is November 1-10, 2023 with pick-up on Thursday, Nov. 16 and 17. Pick-up time will be confirmed by e-mail. More information will be forthcoming.

Conseratory:  We are sad to report that the Gardens' conservatory, built in 1907, was removed in July, 2023 due to safety issues. The original trusses and many of the original mechanical components were salvaged and stored until they can be incorporated into a new conservatory. Arbor trellis' were installed where the old north and south entry vestibules were located. The footprint will be planted with herbaceous plant material to provide seasonal interest until funds are raised and a new conservatory is built.

Reflecting Pool: We happily report that work on the new reflecting pool began on August 1, 2023.

Live. Learn. Bloom.

The Gardens at Kansas State University are a horticulture display garden that was established as an educational resource and learning laboratory for K-State students and the visiting public. The Gardens are a privately funded project, located on the K-State campus. When completed, The Gardens will be a 19-acre garden, designed to show hardscape and tested ornamental plant material in different aesthetic settings. The site is being developed and maintained by the K-State Department of Horticulture and Natural Resources.

The Gardens project will allow students to be actively involved in the ongoing development, maintenance and operation of this world-class garden. In addition to the hands-on learning experiences for students in the horticulture program, students from other programs such as engineering; landscape architecture; apparel; textiles; interior design; and art will all play a part in The Gardens' development.
