Conservatory: We are sad to report that the Gardens' conservatory, was removed in July, 2023 due to safety issues. Arbor trellis' were installed where the old north and south entry vestibules were located. The footprint is planted with herbaceous plant material to provide seasonal interest until funds are raised and a new conservatory is built.
Reflecting Pool: We happily report that work on the new reflecting pool began on August 1, 2023.
Run for the Roses 2024: The date for the 3rd annual Run for the Roses 5K and 1K race fundraiser is April 27, 2024. For more information see Run for the Roses
Live. Learn. Bloom.
The Gardens at Kansas State University are a horticulture display garden that was established as an educational resource and learning laboratory for K-State students and the visiting public. The Gardens are a privately funded project, located on the K-State campus. When completed, The Gardens will be a 19-acre garden, designed to show hardscape and tested ornamental plant material in different aesthetic settings. The site is being developed and maintained by the K-State Department of Horticulture and Natural Resources.
The Gardens project allows students to be actively involved in the ongoing development, maintenance and operation of this world-class garden. In addition to the hands-on learning experiences for students in the horticulture program, students from other programs such as engineering; landscape architecture; apparel; textiles; interior design; and art all play a part in The Gardens' development.
The Gardens have become a popular choice for wedding day events.
You will find three specialty gardens and four plant collections that are woven together to create The Gardens at Kansas State University. Make arrangements for a tour.
Plan to stay a while and wander amongst a rainbow of colors in our Daylily, Iris, Peony, and Rose Collections.
