Students are invited to Ready – Set – Sub event

Feb. 17, 2022 — The Career Center and the K-State College of Education invites students to attend the Ready – Set – Sub event on Monday, Feb. 21, 2022. Through this event, students will meet with area school districts and learn how to become a substitute teacher. This event will be held in the K-State Student Union from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Union Bluemont room.

People who are 18 years and older are eligible to be a substitute teacher and all majors are welcome. Students can come and go at their convenience. All participants will receive a food court card and have a chance to win an iPad!

“Schools need a pool of qualified individuals available to substitute teach on short notice. As a result of COVID, that pool of potential substitute teachers is depleted. Substitute teaching is rewarding and essential part-time work. What we want to do is introduce substitute teaching to individuals who might not have considered it before,” said Todd Goodson, Assistant Dean of Teacher Education and Accreditation.
