Concurrent Enrollment

Concurrent enrollment is a partnership between Kansas State University and Kansas school districts to offer college-level courses at a discounted rate. These courses are taught at the high school by credentialed high school teachers. School districts wishing to partner with Kansas State University to provide concurrent credit should contact the Pre-College Office at manhattanprecollege@ksu.edu.

Cost

Pre-college students take courses at a reduced rate. Books and course fees are included.

Eligibility

  • Students must have a 2.75 cumulative high school G.P.A. and receive permission from a parent/guardian and their high school guidance counselor.
  • Students can enroll in 100/200 level courses as long as they meet the prerequisites (if any). Math courses do have additional requirements.
  • Students wanting to enroll in 300/400 level courses will need special permission.
  • Students are limited to 8 credit hours per semester unless special permission is given.

Application and Enrollment

Students should first talk to their high school counselor about their interest in concurrent enrollment and to learn what courses are offered at their high school. Once that is completed, they should complete the FREE Pre-College Application for admission.

Returning concurrent enrollment students should complete the Pre-College re-enrollment form each semester.
