The Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) is both an individual and an institutional requirement. It is essential that all persons involved in researcher activities have a working understanding of the complex issues surrounding the responsible conduct of research. This understanding helps to improve the ability to make the best ethical and legal choices in the face of potential conflicts involving research. This includes developing an appreciation for the range of accepted scientific practices for conducting research, and being knowledgeable about the regulations, policies, statutes, and guidelines that govern the conduct of University sanctioned research. The contents of this section are designed to document institutional RCR initiatives and programs, and to serve as a resource for faculty and staff.
