Popular Music in the Successful Music Classroom

Teaching for Today

This year's theme for the 21st Annual KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY MUSIC SYMPOSIUM offers learning opportunities for all Music Educators—elementary general music teachers, instrumental teachers, and vocal teachers--as we consider how popular music can be integrated into the educational setting while maintaining curricular integrity.

All are welcome to take part in events including outstanding speakers, material displays, reading sessions, performances, social times, and much more, all showing us how to refresh ourselves on our journey as music teachers as we elevate the quality of our programs for our students and ourselves.

Come help us explore a variety of ways to enhance the integrity of music education with pop music through large group sessions, mix and match interest sessions, small group times, and parties! Make your plans now to join us for the symposium in Manhattan, Kansas, spending June 8-11, 2009 on the K-State campus. DON'T MISS THE FUN
