Doctoral Students Checklist

To help you have a successful last semester of your graduate studies, please refer to this deadline checklist. As you see in the checklist, there are specific deadlines for some requirements. In order for you to graduate and participate in commencement the semester you intend, the Graduate School has hard deadlines you must comply with. While the other steps on this list don't have hard deadlines, we highly recommend you complete the tasks in the order listed. Please refer to the doctoral degree checklist for prior semester requirements. Print the deadlines calendar (pdf).

  • Complete the Graduation Application on your KSIS account.
    • NOTE: Completing the Graduation Application will NOT register you for commencement.
    • If you wish to attend commencement, a link to register is available at the bottom of this list.

  • Determine with your major professor if your ETDR should have a delayed publication and if so how many years.  If so, follow procedures to embargo your ETDR.

**Students who graduate in the summer term may attend the following December or May commencement ceremony. 

 

If you do not meet all of the requirements by the deadlines listed above, but you complete all degree requirements by the end of the current term, you will graduate in the following term without having to enroll. 
Fall 2018:  If you do not complete all requirements by the deadlines listed above for the fall semester, but you complete all requirements by Dec. 7 2018,  you will graduate in Spring 2019 without having to enroll in Spring 2019. 
Spring 2018:  If you do not complete all requirements by the deadlines listed above for the spring semester, but you complete all requirements by May 4, 2018, you will graduate in Summer 2018 without having to enroll in Summer 2018.
