The Biochemistry Program offers B.S., B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. Departmental faculty have research programs supported by over $3 million in annual extramural support for studying various aspects of biochemistry in animals, plants, insects, and microorganisms.

Recent Achievements

Jayne Christen received an Outstanding Poster Presentation Award at the 6th International Symposium on the Chemistry and Biology of Serpins, held in Chapel Hill North Carolina, October 23-26.

Alumnus Jeff Fabrick (PhD. 2003, Kanost) was honored with the College of Arts & Sciences Young Alumni Award on Oct. 27, 2011. Press Release

Department Head Michael Kanost was honored with the Olin Petefish General Science Award, one of the Higuchi-KU Endowment Reserch Achievement Awards on Nov. 9, 2011.
